In partnership with other agencies, our kids fix bikes and donate them to inner city residents so they can commute to work. In cooperation with the Allentown Police Department, free bike inspections and repairs are provided to residents at neighborhood bicycle derbies. Safety classes are taught. Community activities, such as rides and bike rodeos are organized.
Objectives:
Have 60 youths work in the community bike shop beyond the contracted 24 hours of Earn a Bike.
Collect 500 used bicycles for the Earn A Bike program and our bike shop
This year more than 300 youths participated in various activities!!
